Class hours: 3.0 Lecture This course is designed to provide the student an understanding of how speech and language develops in normal monolingual and bilingual children and what factors characterize language delay or a language disorder in children with special needs, including exposure to standardized tests and measures of language development. Practice will be provided in eliciting and analyzing speech/language samples from children representing native and non-native speakers and demonstrating normal and delayed speech/language skills. It is recommended for students majoring in speech pathology, the Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Program, elementary education, preschool or special education. Transfer Credit: CSU
