Class hours: 2.0 Lecture Prerequisite: MUS 112 and MUS 105 or equivalent with a grade of Pass or "C" or higher. The course introduces basic principles of successful piano teaching at the beginning level. Special problems encountered in teaching will be addressed. Emphasis will be placed on private and group piano teaching methods, personal development as a teacher and musician, analyzing and selecting appropriate literature, development of technique and reading ability in beginning-level students.
