Class hours: 1.0 Lecture/0.5 Laboratory Recommendation: Concurrent enrollment or completion of JOUR 101 with a grade of Pass or "C" or higher. This course focuses on copy editing and word skills for journalists. Students will practice applying Associated Press style rules to stories and improving sentence structure, spelling, and general grammar skills commonly found in news stories. This course is recommended for journalism students who wish to improve copy editing skills. Skills acquired will be useable in various job markets, including newsletter, newspaper, magazine, book, and online publishing. Transfer Credit: CSU
