Class hours: 4.0 Lecture/2.0 Laboratory Prerequisite: BCOT 131 or BCOT 132, or BCOT 162 and BCOM 46, or equivalent courses with grades of Pass or "C" or higher. Recommendation: Concurrent enrollment in BCOT 3T. This is a course designed to teach the skills and knowledge necessary for the production of high-quality business documents through the total transcription concept (from handwritten copy, from machine dictation, or from shorthand dictation) and for the development of proper machine dictation skills/procedures. The emphasis is on the development of language arts skills, skillful keyboarding, and accurate proofreading in producing quality finished documents on electronic equipment/microcomputers.
