Class hours: 3.0 Lecture Recommendation: CDEC 111 and CD 110 or equivalent with grades of Pass or "C" or higher. This course covers the theories of behavior, guidance techniques, and effective communication, observational, assessment, and documentation of young and school-age children. The emphasis will be on developing an understanding of children's behavior and encouraging positive self-esteem while helping the child work toward self-control. Content will cover understanding observation as an integral part of appropriate instruction and intervention. This course is not open to students who have received credit for CD 137 and CD 138.
