Class hours: 3.0 Lecture Recommendation: ENGL 52 and READ 54 or equivalent with grades of Pass or "C" or higher. This course is an overview of the art of the Americas prior to European contact. It will include an examination of the cultural, socio-political, and religious influences that have shaped the art of the Americas with a specific focus on the cultures of Mesoamerica, the Caribbean, and the Andes. This course will consist of lecture, slide presentations, discussion, and analysis of representative art of the various periods and regions. Transfer Credit: CSU
