Class hours: One (1) hour control class each week plus 15 hours of employment per week for Manufacturing Technology work experience 73 or 20 hours of employment per week for Manufacturing Technology work experience 74. The employment must be in a job related to the student's educational goal. Corequisite: (1) Enrollment in the Manufacturing Technology vocational program with 7 or more units including occupational work experience. Work experience/career internship provides the opportunity for Manufacturing Technology students to apply skills and knowledge learned in the classroom to related experiences on the job/training site. The aim of the course is to assist students in expanding specific job skills. In the process of doing so, it creates greater communication with increased understanding between the student/workers, the college, and the employer/trainers. Students also pursue a program of self-evaluation to determine individual job weaknesses and strengths. Semester projects that relate to the major and job skills must be completed on the job/training site. These courses may be taken for a maximum of 4 times.
