Class hours: 3.0 Lecture/2.0 Laboratory Recommendation: CIS 205 or equivalent with a grade of Pass or "C" or higher, or appropriate work experience. This course covers the purpose and scope of eXtensible Markup Language (XML). The course will cover XML-related technologies and standards to develop dynamic, data-driven Web applications. Topics include XML structure and syntax, eXtensible Hypertext Markup Language (XHTML), Document Type Definition (DTD) and schemas validation, Cascading Style Sheet (CSS), XML as linking and searching mechanism, eXtensible Style Sheet (XSL) for formatting-object documents, Document Object Model (DOM), and Simple API for XML (SAX) for parsing and transforming XML.
