Class hours: 3.3 Lecture/9.8 Laboratory Prerequisite: COS 50A or equivalent with a grade of Pass or "C" or higher. This is an introductory course in the technical and related theory and manipulative skills pertaining to the field of cosmetology. It is designed to acquaint the students with and to develop their ability to perform the basic skills in haircoloring, permanent waving, skin care, manicuring and pedicuring. Emphasis will be placed on the Cosmetology Act, State Board Rules and Regulations, as well as health, safety, sanitation, anatomy, and chemistry as they relate to the cosmetology profession.
