This course provides a study of the chemistry of organic compounds including their physical and chemical properties, synthesis and reaction mechanisms. Topics include bonding theories, organic acids and bases, reaction pathways, stereochemistry, nucleophilic substitution and elimination reactions, alkenes and an introduction to spectroscopy. This course is designed for science majors. Prerequisites: CHEM 1122; CLAB 1122. Corequisite: CLAB 2241.
