An indepth study of the Book of Psalms as a collection of songs that connect to Israel's broad narrative as well as psalmists' personal narratives with particular attention to the themes of praise and lament. Will also consider its historical function in the worship and prayer life of the church. Prerequisites: EN 102 English Composition II and BI201: Principles of Biblical Interpretation (or permission from the instructor).
