The course covers American economic history from the period of colonization to the present. An introduction to the goals and objectives of the economic historian and to the historical background of the period of colonization will be presented. The interrelationship of agriculture, trade and commerce, the factory system, the banking system, transportation, communication, technology, immigration, labor unions, wars, recessions, depressions, and inflation will be discussed in terms of their impact of the American nation.
