Prerequisite: CP100 This course will provide an overview of data communications technology, terminology, hardware, software, and services. Hardware and software will be analyzed from a functional point of view. Students will be introduced to the major hardware devices including terminals, modems, multiplexers, concentrators, switches, and computer front-end processors. Internet applications and local area network and wide area network will be explored.
