Class hours: 1.0 Lecture/3.0 Laboratory Prerequisite: ART 287A or equivalent with a grade of Pass or "C" or higher. This course is designed to develop analytical methods and to increase performance skills in the evaluation of letter structure and the shaping of historical letterform styles. Students will develop the ability to modify historical styles of letterforms for contemporary applications in aesthetic and communicative areas. Expertise and knowledge will be expanded through the exploration of tools, materials, and techniques. This course may be taken for a maximum of 3 times. Transfer Credit: CSU
