Class hours: 2.0 Lecture/4.0 Laboratory Prerequisite: ART 112 or equivalent with a grade of Pass or "C" or higher. Student must be at least 18 years of age or have parental consent in order to take this course. This is a painting and lecture course which focuses on the live model as subject matter. The history and philosophy of the figure in art are discussed. Symbolic, expressionistic, allegorical, fantastic, narrative, and abstract styles are surveyed. Drawing and painting techniques and materials are explained. Individual and group critiques are utilized. This course may be taken for a maximum of 2 times. Transfer Credit: CSU; UC
