Class hours: 2.0 Lecture/4.0 Laboratory Prerequisite: ART 144 or equivalent with a grade of Pass or "C" or higher. This is the second course in a sequential program covering the design and technical processes of jewelry and metalsmithing. Emphasis will be placed on the continued development of skills in designing and fabrication of jewelry and metalsmithing. The techniques and projects covered are forging/smithing, hollow constructions and casting courses unless otherwise noted. processes. The study of the history and culture of jewelry and body ornamentation is continued through audio/visual lectures and museum and gallery visits. This course may be taken for a maximum of 2 times.
