It involves analysis of intimate and family relationships across the lifespan and in traditional and alternative family forms. Emphasis is on the modern American family, but historical and crosscultural comparisons are addressed. Topics include changing family patterns and roles, love, courtship, marital success and dissolution, childrearing, and family stress. Prerequisite: Eligibility for ENGL& 101 or READ 101 or concurrent enrollment in ENGL 075 or DVREA 081, 082, or 083 Distribution: SS
