0 credits quarters: This course is designed to provide instruction in basic bedside nursing assistant skills. The YVCC training consists of the following elements: first aid/CPR, HIV/AIDS, nurse delegation, fundamentals of caregiving, blood pathogens, and 110 hours of clinical training under the supervision of a registered nurse. After successful completion of the entire training, students are eligible to sit for their state nursing assistant certification exam. Students receiving their certificate are eligible for employment by a nursing home, hospital, assisted living, private care, or community health agency.
