6 credits quarters: F, W, S This is the beginning clinical course in the associate degree sequence. This course provides for the clinical application of basic nursing concepts studied in the concurrent theoretical course (NRSE 110). Opportunities are provided for campus laboratory practice of selected nursing skills. The course also includes clinical experience in caring for adult patients in long-term care settings with an emphasis on the use of nursing process to promote adaptation and wellness. Beginning application of the concepts of lifespan, communication, legal/ethical issues, pharmacology, nutrition, leadership, safety, health teaching, and culture are included. Prerequisite: Concurrent enrollment in or successful completion of NRSE 110
