5 credits quarters: F, W, S This theory course examines nursing care of selected individuals throughout the lifespan who are experiencing complex alterations in wellness across multiple systems. Complications occurring in obstetrical patients are discussed. Care of patients with alterations in mental health is also discussed. The nursing process serves as the organizing framework for study and delivery of nursing care. The concepts of communication, lifespan, legal/ethical issues, pharmacology, nutrition, leadership, safety, health teaching, and culture are integrated throughout as means of promoting adaptation and wellness. Prerequisite: NRSE 210 and 211. Permission of instructor is required to withdraw from this course.
