Topics discussed include history of the nursing profession, education in nursing, practice credentials, health care delivery systems, collective bargaining, professional organizations, and transition to employment. The concepts of communication, legal/ethical systems, leadership, and safety are integrated throughout as means of understanding the role of nursing within society and within the health care system. Prerequisite: NRSE 220, 221, and 228, and concurrent enrollment in or successful completion of NRSE 230
