5 credits quarters: S All French courses will develop the language skills necessary for functional proficiency and creative use of the French language. Using a communicative and interactive approach, the student will explore the language, people, and culture of the French-speaking countries. Throughout the course we will explore the nature of foreign language learning and develop language-learning strategies which will enable the student to be successful in this class. The vocabulary will be practical and useful and will prepare the student for eventual travel to a French-speaking country. The grammatical structures learned will enable intelligent communication with native French speakers. Prerequisite: FREN 102, permission of instructor, or placement test Distribution: HM
