3 credits quarters: F, W Explore the sports medicine realm and the management of conditions limiting functional capabilities of the physically active individual whose activities may range from competitive sports, to recreational sports or occupational activities. Students will be provided with knowledge and practical application of the basic principles of prevention, recognition, treatment, management, and rehabilitation and reconditioning techniques of injuries and illnesses. Included within this course will be first aid/CPR certification. Prerequisite: Eligibility for ENGL& 101 or READ 101 or concurrent enrollment in or successful completion of ENGL 075 or DVREA 081, 082, 083.
