5 credits quarters: F Plant propagation techniques are used to multiply selected plants and preserve their essential genetic characteristics. Plant propagation is essential to the success of production agriculture and ornamental horticulture. The class will review the concepts of sexual and asexual plant propagation and specifically address principles and techniques of propagation by seed and cuttings. Also addressed will be principles and techniques in micropropagation and propagation by budding, grafting, and layering. Recommended: AGSCI 101
