Students will learn to utilize well-defined professional skills to increase the effectiveness of communication between themselves and their patients. Topics discussed will include how cultural influences, biases, and prejudices may affect interactions; listening skills; verbal and nonverbal communication; roadblocks to effective communication; and interview techniques. Prerequisite: BTECH 104, IT 105, and admission to the program.
