Introduces the geological history of the earth and its inhabitants. Included are geologic processes that have shaped the planet including plate tectonics, preservation of fossils and depositional environments. Emphasis will be placed on fossils of West and West-Central Texas. Some field trips will be offered. Some will be required. Further work with topographic and geologic maps will be required.
