This course broadly overviews a conceptual understanding of the behavioral, physiological, and societal impact that a variety of drugs cause when used and abused. An overview of the history and current status of societal responses to psychoactive drug use and abuse, including legal regulations, treatment, and prevention efforts will also be introduced. This course will be useful to students in the areas of law enforcement, health care, education, and public service.
