Probes the theology of Hebrew Wisdom Literature, its relation to Near Eastern Wisdom traditions and the role of Wisdom in the teachings of Jesus and the New Testament. Explores historical and theological contexts of Wisdom Literature, as well as the practical and ethical implications of Wisdom teaching for contemporary Christian living. Important themes include the problem of suffering, principles of decision-making, speech ethics, and character formation.
