A study of the child, family, community, and schools, including parent education and involvement, family and community lifestyles, child abuse, and current family life issues. Course content must be aligned as applicable with State Board of Educator Certification Pedagogy and Professional Responsibilities standards. Requires students to participate in field experiences with children from infancy through age 12 in a variety of settings with varied and diverse populations. Course includes a minimum of 16 hours of field experiences. A study of the relationship between the child, the family, the community, and early childhood educators, including a study of parent education, family and community lifestyles, child abuse, and current issues. Three lecture and one external hours per week. TSI Requirement: M1; R1, R2C; W1. Prerequisite: None. Co-op Fee: $16.25
