Overview of the normal physical, psychosocial, and cultural aspects of the aging process. Addresses common disease processes of aging. Exploration of attitudes toward care of the older adult. This course must be passed with at least a "C" in order to progress to the Spring nursing semester. It is taught by Distance Learning technology. Power Point notes are provided to the student through the use of Campus Cruiser and can be downloaded if they have installed Power Point Reader previously. Class will center and focus around total respect for our older adults. The instructor will assist students to recognize the need for all seniors to remain productive and active, as well as the importance in participation in decision making regarding their own care. One lecture hour per week. TSI Requirement: M3; R3; W2. Prerequisite: BIOL 2401, BIOL 2402, PSYC 2301, PSYC 2314, and admission into the vocational nursing program
