Algebra-level physics sequence, with laboratories, that includes study of waves, electricity and magnetism, and modern physics. This course will focus on selected topics in physics as an introductory scientific investigation of the physical phenomena around us. These include Unit One - Waves and Sound, Unit Two - Electrostatics and Electric Circuits, Unit Three - Magnetism, and Unit Four - Physical Optics. The two semesters of College Physics are primarily based on constructivist methodology performed in a cooperative learning environment. Therefore, most of the student's learning will occur in group activities with minimum lecture input from the instructor. Three lecture and three laboratory hours per week. TSI Requirement: M3; R3; W2. Prerequisite: PHYS 1401. Lab Fee: $24
