Fundamental principles of living organisms including physical and chemical properties of life, organization, function, evolutionary adaptation, and classification. Concepts of reproduction, genetics, ecology, and the scientific method are included. BIOL 1406 and BIOL 1407 are two linked courses designed to be taken in consecutive semesters. Intended for science majors. BIOL 1407 includes evolution, history of life, diversity and form and function of organisms, classification, and ecology. Other concepts are included in BIOL 1406. BIOL 1407 and BIOL 1409 may not both count towards completion of graduation requirements. Three lecture and three laboratory hours per week. TSI Requirement: M2; R3; W1. Prerequisite: BIOL 1406 with a minimum grade of "C" or approval of instructor. Lab Fee: $24
