(Prerequisite: WLD 100) Introduces the major theory, techniques, and safety practices required for gas metal arc welding. Qualification tests, all positions, are used in the evaluation of student progress toward making industrial standard welds. Topics include: GMAW safety/health practices, GMAW theory, machines, set-up, wire specifications, joint design, shielding gas, and production of GMAW beads, bead patterns, and joints in all positions.
