(Prerequisite: WLD 100) Introduces the major theory, techniques, and safety procedures required for shielded metal arc welding in the vertical position. Qualification tests, vertical position, are used in the evaluation of student progress toward making industrial standard welds, vertical joints, mild steel, applications of low hydrogen, and other common electrodes in vertical position welding.
