Pre-requisite: DFTG 1309 or ENGR 1304. This course covers the use and care of instruments, note keeping, distance measurements, traverse surveying, areas, angles and elevations, legal principles, elementary map making, plane table and transit methods of topographic map production, field problems related to highway surveying, circular and vertical curves, earthwork, volumes and cost estimates, and triangulation and base lines.
