This course is an introduction to selected concepts related to the role of the professional nurse as provider of care, coordinator of care, and member of the profession. It contains a review of trends and issues impacting nursing and health care today and in the future. Topics include knowledge, judgment, skill and professional values within a legal/ethical framework. Semester Hours: 3 Lecture Hours: 2 Lab Hours: 2 Pre-requisite: CHEM 1406, ENGL 1301, PSYC 2301, BIOL 2401 with a grade of ā€œCā€ or better in each. Note: This course lends itself to a blocked approach. RNSG 2307 includes a review of nursing theory and nursing skills, problem solving, critical thinking and the nursing process applied to clients/families in a variety of settings in the community. This course must be taken concurrently with RNSG 2260.
