This course introduces the fundamentals of medical transcription with hands-on experience in transcribing physician dictation including basic reports such as history and physicals, discharge summaries, consultations, operative reports and other medical reports, utilizing transcribing and information processing equipment compatible with industry standards. This course is designed to develop speed and accuracy. Descriptions Semester Hours: 4 Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 2 Pre-requisite: Keyboarding proficiency and knowledge of medical terminology.
