This is an overview of automotive electrical systems. The course includes topics in operational theory, testing, diagnosis, and repair of batteries, charging and starting systems, and electrical accessories. Emphasis is placed on the utilization of electrical schematic diagrams and service manuals. Safety is emphasized throughout the course. Elements of the course may be taught manufacturer specific. This course also includes an overview of computer information systems. It introduces computer hardware, software, procedures and related systems with an emphasis in automotive service.
