Surveys the theoretical approach to the study of international trade, its effects upon national economies, motivations to trade, and gains to be made from national and regional specialization and trade. International financial institutions and their role in influencing the values of national currencies, national policies encouraging or discouraging free trade, and the role of the Pacific Northwest in international trade are considered.
