(4-3-3) This course is a study of the basic principles of biology, which include the scientific method, physical and chemical properties of life, energy flow, cell division, cell organization and function, and genetics and inheritance. This course is designed for allied health majors, biological science majors, and pre-professional health occupations majors. It will satisfy the basic science requirement for upper level courses. Prerequisite: The student must have passed all sections of the THEA test and/or completed all reading, writing, and math requirements or be taking Math 0308 concurrently. Laboratory fee $35.
