This course is an introduction to the principles of research in the biological sciences. The course will give the student a foundation in the philosophy of science, the scientific method, data analysis, and report writing. Students will be required to conduct a literature review of a research topic and write a proposal to conduct research on the topic. CHEM 1312/1112 and MATH 1342 strongly recommended. Prerequisite: BIOL 1407.
