Provides an overview of the dynamic and interpersonal aspects of the learning process and considers the best practices tutors, mentors, future teachers, potential student leaders, and all learners can employ to facilitate learning. Topics include learning styles, learner-centered teaching, brain-based learning, critical thinking, and communication skills. The course seeks to give students a heightened awareness of the learning process and evidence-based learning strategies in an effort to create innovative, reflective mentors, tutors and learners. Satisfies training requirements for peer tutors and mentors seeking Level I, II or III International Tutor Certification (ITPC) or Peer Mentor Program Certification.
