S.Schwartz Examining photographic practices between the 1850's and the 1970's, this seminar seeks to move beyond the reflective analysis of the city in the image and as the subject of representation to the relationship between photography and urbanization. Taking up various theories and models it explores how making records and reorganization of space developed as related means of modernization.
