SO (Cross-listed in Peace and Conflict Studies) A.Isaacs Challenges of transitional justice -- confronting human rights violations in the aftermath of violent conflict and repressive dictatorship. We will address questions raised in transitional justice studies, focusing on purpose, goals and implications, and assessing practical experiences with key transitional justice mechanisms, including truth commissions, trials and reparations. Prerequisite: Junior or senior standing, or consent of instructor.
