SO (Cross-listed in Latin American and Iberian Studies) A.Isaacs Peace building in the aftermath of civil war. Combines theory with case studies in exploring triple challenges of reintegration (demilitarization and refugee repatriation); reconciliation (alternative approaches to dealing with wartime violations of human rights); and reconstruction (fostering democracy and socio-economic development). Prerequisite: One course in political science or peace studies, and field experience. (Satisfies the social justice requirement.)
