SO I.Ghosh This course will introduce numerical methods commonly used in the fields of macroeconomics and finance. It will introduce computational and programming techniques that can be used to solve finite-dimensional optimization problems. Such problems commonly arise in economics--how much to spend as opposed to save; and in finance--how to distribute the saved amount across different assets. Prerequisite: MATH 103 or 218 or 116 or 216 or 317 or 215 or ECON 302, Intermediate Microeconomics. No prior programming experience is required.
