SO R.Wynn This course explores the economics of higher education as part of the non-profit sector of the U.S. economy, focusing specifically on the business and financial structure of Haverford College as the prototype of an independent, not-for-profit organization. The course begins with an overview of the non-profit sector and the higher education industry, and includes such topics as long range and strategic planning, budgeting, endowment management, socially responsible investing, assessing financial health, as well as other topics.
