The course pays particular attention to the role of women in the French Revolution (declarations, manifestoes, women's clubs, salons, etc.) in the post-revolutionary era, as well as more contemporary feminist manifestations in France since Simone de Beauvoir's Deuxième Sexe and the flow of feminist texts produced in the wake of May 1968.
