Goal In addition to meeting the goals of general education, this course will enhance the student's understanding of the roots of prejudice. The course will also provide students with an opportunity to explore their personal attitudes, fears, and hopes concerning race, class, and gender. Content Students will examine essays, novels, biographies, and films in their exploration of the nature of prejudice with an eye to context (race, glass, gender). They will also explore the social psychological impact of prejudice upon the quality of community life through selected community service projects. Taught Occasionally. Gen. Ed. Category Critical thinking; cross-cultural. Credit 3 hours.
