Goal An introduction to two-dimensional design used to provide a formal structure for the study of visual images. Students will learn the use of visual elements (line, shape form, texture, value, color, pattern) and principles (composition, unity, variety, emphasis, contrast, rhythm, motion, etc.) in an analytical study of images from art and culture. Content Works of art will be formally analyzed. Visual meaning in images will be evaluated by studying the artist's intentions and stylistic execution. Taught Annually. Gen. Ed.
